Find and verify a UK veterinary practice
A plain-English guide: use the official RCVS Find a vet service, understand Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) accreditation, and know the difference between independent practices and large chains — so you can choose with evidence, not guesswork.
Not a listing site (yet). RCVS practice data is not published as an open register, so this site deliberately publishes guides only. Nothing here invents practice names, ratings or counts.
3 steps to verify any practice
- Search the official RCVS finder: findavet.rcvs.org.uk — it only shows RCVS-registered vets and practices.
- Look for PSS accreditation — RCVS's voluntary practice accreditation scheme with Core/General/Excellence levels.
- Check who owns it: many UK practices belong to large groups (CVS, Vets4Pets, Linnaeus, IVC). Ownership isn't quality by itself — accreditation results and published fees tell you more.
